A few weeks ago, Brian and I were transplanting our rhubarb to a new location in our backyard. Brian's mom had brought the rhubarb from Iowa only a few years earlier and I was amazed to see how deep and strong the roots were. Brian and I took a moment right then to pray that Abra and Hana would be as rooted to us and to Jesus as this rhubarb was to our backyard. Living a domestic life has been a blessing. When I am kneading my bread, I think about the Kingdom (Matthew 13:33). When I prune my grape vine, I can't help but meditate on my favorite passage, John 15. Now if only I had a flock of sheep!
This summer has been a great time for my family. Abraham has become a believer. The treasure verses touched him deeply. He desires the Kingdom. The other day he picked a strawberry from my little patch. He put part of it in his mouth and said, "This taste like a heavenly treasure." I liked the beauty of that remark and it got me thinking. What verses would best fit into my children's lives? What do they spend their time doing? The answer came quickly; they move. I began to look through my memory verses and then through the Bible finding passages that would bless them. When my kids are running, swinging, jumping, dancing, working, and resting, the Bible has something to say to them. I pray these action verses bless my children and make God's Word an even more natural and fulfilling part of their daily living. As I have begun to study them, they have already touched my heart.
Here are 13 more verses to hide in your child's heart.
SOARING (we soar when we swing) Isaiah 30:29-31 lesson
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
